How to Prepare a Private Label Acne Patch Specification

A practical checklist for brand owners and distributors requesting samples and quotations.

MOQ depends on the product characteristics and is confirmed in the quotation. A sample fee is required upfront and will be refunded after an order is placed. Price, packaging and production schedule are confirmed in the quotation.

How do I specify custom acne patch shapes and pack counts?

List the selected hydrocolloid or hydrogel reference, dimensions of every shape, patches per sheet, sheets per retail pack and quantity per design. Approve the physical sample, liner and printed packaging against the same written specification.

Use the sample approval record to keep requested corrections and the final specification together.

A useful quotation starts with a defined product and a clear unit of sale. “Acne patches with our logo” leaves several choices open: the material, patch outline, patches per sheet and sheets per retail pack. Record these choices before comparing prices, and mark anything that still needs sample review.

Compare hydrocolloid and hydrogel catalog references

Use the material and sheet format to narrow down a sample request. These catalog references are separate options: matching shapes or colors does not mean that their materials or finished pack contents are the same.

ACNE-01: custom-shape hydrocolloid patchesStart here for a hydrocolloid patch project with a custom outline. Specify dimensions, size mix, patches per sheet and sheets per finished pack before requesting samples.
ACNE-02: custom-shape hydrogel patchesUse this hydrogel reference for a separate material discussion. Confirm the outline, appearance and sheet layout instead of copying a hydrocolloid specification unchanged.
ACNE-03: star and heart hydrogel patchesFor a mixed-shape project, list each star or heart outline, its dimensions and the number of each shape on the sheet. Include the quantity for every artwork version.
ACNE-05: hydrocolloid spot stickersReview this hydrocolloid spot-sticker reference when defining the finished pack. Agree the patch count, sheet layout, liner and packaging with the physical sample.

1. Define the patch, sheet and order quantity

Material: identify whether you are requesting hydrocolloid or hydrogel from the listed range. Ask for a sample and the relevant specification when you have not selected the construction. Do not treat different materials as interchangeable solely because the patches look similar.

Outline and dimensions: provide the diameter for a round patch or a dimensioned drawing for a custom shape. For a sheet containing several sizes, list each size and its quantity. A reference photo can communicate appearance, but it should not replace dimensions.

Unit count: state patches per sheet, sheets per retail pack and retail packs per order. For example, 24 patches per sheet × 2 sheets per pack × 1,000 packs equals 48,000 individual patches. This is a counting example, not an MOQ or a quoted pack configuration.

Design split: give the quantity for each shape, color or artwork version. A total spread across several designs may have different production and packaging requirements from a single-design order.

2. Specify packaging and artwork together

Choose the packaging format you want reviewed, such as blister sheets, sachets or retail boxes from the current range. Describe how the patch sheets fit inside the pack and whether the artwork applies to the product, the package or both.

  • Provide your logo and the intended printed areas.
  • List the text, barcode and instruction language for each packaging version.
  • Identify which dimensions are fixed and which may be adjusted after sample review.
  • Ask the quotation to distinguish product, packaging, sample and any tooling costs where applicable.

Submit the wording intended for your destination market for review. Product appearance or a generic supplier certificate does not establish support for a specific label claim. Ask which documentation relates to the exact product being quoted.

3. Review the sample against the written specification

Check the outline, dimensions, sheet layout, liner removal, visual finish and printed appearance. Review the packaging alongside the patches so you can confirm the unit count, artwork version and fit. Agree with the supplier on any further evaluation required for your intended product and market.

Record changes in one revised specification rather than scattering them across separate messages. Before approving bulk production, confirm the selected sample, packaging artwork, quantities and schedule in the quotation or order documents.

When comparing suppliers, use the same specification and unit of quotation. A price per patch cannot be compared directly with a price per sheet or finished box. Check the included packaging and shipping terms as well as the number.

4. Copy this checklist into your inquiry

Download a blank RFQ worksheet (CSV) to record your specification. Complete one product or artwork version per sheet and send it to mz@mzbio.com, or copy the completed fields into the inquiry form. Do not include payment details or confidential artwork in the initial brief.

  • Product: hydrocolloid or hydrogel acne patch; reference model or sample.
  • Shape and dimensions: outline, diameter or drawing, and size mix.
  • Sheet layout: patches per sheet and quantity of each size.
  • Retail pack: sheets per pack, packaging format and artwork versions.
  • Order: number of packs and total patches, split by design.
  • Artwork: logo placement, colors, printed text and instruction language.
  • Sample checks: dimensions, appearance, packaging and required evaluation.
  • Destination: country, requested delivery date and preferred shipping terms.
  • Quotation: unit basis, MOQ per design, sample costs, packaging costs and confirmed lead time.

If a detail is undecided, label it “to confirm” and ask for options. A clear open question is more useful than an assumed specification.
